VIC:Palmer lets fly on coal seam gas

Billionaire miner CLIVE PALMER has lashed out at the coal seam gas industry saying
it could harm the environment.

PALMER is Queensland's richest man and intends to oversee a multi-billion dollar expansion
in that state's Galilee thermal coal basin.

Speaking at the National Party's Federal Council in Canberra, Mr PALMER said concerns
had been raised about the impact of Australia's fledgling coal seam gas industry.

According to the ABC, Mr PALMER says overseas companies are concerned that the people
extracting coal seam gas in Australia aren't as skilled and risk contaminating the water
table with arsenic and other carcinogens if they don't get it right.
