FED: Christmas trees not immune to climate change: Survey

Climate change is also reaching the nation's Christmas trees .. with a new survey showing
a shift towards environmentally friendly gifts.

The survey of one thousand people says more than half will take environmental concerns
into account .. when choosing presents for their loved ones.

MARGY OSMOND .. from the Australian National Retailers Association .. says one in four
will choose gifts with less packaging .. while 20 per cent say they'll purchase consumables
such as gift vouchers or movie tickets.

The survey says women are more likely to make environmentally inspired gift choices
.. which Ms OSMOND says is good news .. because women make the majority of retail purchases.
